Beginners are very welcome. For our teacher training courses, we recommend at least one year of experience with yoga or meditation. All of the classes we offer are designed to provide safe and balanced instruction for all levels of experience, with an emphasis on deep breathing and exploring balance through cultivating energy and focus while being relaxed. Firm but gentle. At any time you can communicate with your instructor if you need assistance, and we encourage resting poses in order to give the body a chance to ease into the practice

TTC - What type of yoga is taught?

This is a multi - style approach to the physical practices of Yoga. You will learn some set sequences and the principles of Vinyasa, Hatha, Gentle, & Yin yoga so that you can practice and teach sequences that are born in the moment, but based in the traditional methodology, and can be fit to match yours and your students needs each time. We transmit the meditative aspect of Yoga through the view of non-dual classic Tantric Yoga. You will learn meditation techniques from classic texts on how to shift the perspective of self and reality to a more subtle and expanded sense of being, infinitely allowing and brimming with potentiality and experience, realizing the mind as a tool of the self, surrendering from seeking identity in thought or concept, and awakening to being.

Thai culture

Thai culture in general is modest, allowing, and non-confrontational. Thais will appreciate soft speaking, gentleness, and having the body covered. If you want to visit local temples you should wear long pants and tops that cover the torso and shoulders and similar in any shop or business. Using ice bath or sauna at The Source we require you to also be covered in at least a bathing suit and provide sarongs for wrapping around the body.

What will the weather be like in Thailand, what about mosquitos?

Thailand is always quite hot and humid, with the rainy season in Koh Phangan being mainly in November and December. Where we are located, we have the mountain breeze and lots of tree coverage, meaning that you do not feel the heat so much as next to the beach, for example. We also have way less mosquitos, especially in our shala, where there are almost none. That being said, you should prepare yourself for an experience where you are interacting with the nature of the island, with geckos and insects being part of life in the jungle. Natural repellents and appropriate clothing are enough to keep you comfortable.
